Escalante Wedding in Freer / Alice Texas
Posted by deeperrin On F j, Y
Today we are off to shoot in a new location. We will be shooting a wedding in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Freer Texas. We always like shooting in new locations. Freer is about 2 hours away from the studio. Once the bride and groom say “I Do” then we skip over to the KC Hall in Alice.
We hope we have a great video shoot and get back to Corpus Christi safe. Once the highlight video is edited we will post it online so you can see. If you want to see other highlights buzz on over to our Vimeo page: https://vimeo.com/bigboxprowedding. Please post comments and let us know what you think.
Thanks for watching and stay tuned.

Spring Break at Big Box Pro Video Productions
Posted by deeperrin On F j, Y
Here at Big Box Pro Video Productions we tend to be booked up on the weekends and this year is no exception. We happened to shoot a wedding in Houston last weekend. So wedding videographers always juggle the fact we never get weekends off, but we make up for that on Monday and Tuesday… if we are lucky. So this month we are trying to spend non shooting / editing time outdoors in God’s playground.
Here are a few photos from our hike in the Big Thicket National Forest.
Aside from hiking in the forest we decided to enjoy the awesome weather and have dinner in Grason’s tree-house.
So now that spring break is over it is time to get back to editing wedding video productions.
Till next time,

Shelby and Wes’ Marathon Texas Wedding
Posted by deeperrin On F j, Y
When Shelby and Wes asked us to shoot their wedding in Marathon, Texas, I was super excited. Because I love West Texas.
Okay, Derrick loves West Texas. And I love Derrick. ‘Cause there’s the stuff you love, and there’s the stuff he loves. And then there’s the stuff you really kinda do love because he loves it. Marriage is like that. But I digress.
Marathon, at an elevation of 4040 feet and located in the Chihuahuan Desert, has a humidity level of like 0% I’m guessing. And though there is a certain kind of beauty to dirt and rocks, and rocks and dirt (and maybe some cactus), Gage Gardens is such a welcoming oasis out there.
Shelby & Wes’ perfect palette appropriately reflected the colors of the desert. Shelby’s dress was traditional white. The gents donned off-white shirts and khakis, and the bridesmaids were so lovely in strapless tea-length light gold frocks with brown sashes. Florals (none of which the bride’s bouquet contained) were yellow roses and carnations. What’s left? Oh, yes. Green. Green succulents. (Did I mention I love succulents?)
Shelby’s bouquet was comprised entirely of greenery, much of it succulents. Their other (and most adorable) use? The guest favors–tiny potted succulents. They looked so precious in their terracotta pots all sprayed in metallic gold. I seriously wanted one. Okay, I wanted all of them.
Speaking of gifts, how cool is this? Wes made knives from railroad spikes for each of his groomsmen. The guys were, of course, pretty stoked.
Other really awesome not-to-be-overlooked elements include:
- Boots. Worn by everyone, of course. We’re in West Texas!
- Poloroid sign-in book (with location-appropriate props),
- The Best Man’s toast: A song to his baby brother & new sister-in-law (watch it here),
- And the ever-popular sparkler send-off.
So here is Shelby & Wes’ Marathon, Texas Wedding Highlight. If you enjoy watching it half as much as we enjoyed making it, then we did pretty good.

Shelby and Wes wanted their closest friends and family to enjoy West Texas and the Big Bend. These two had a beautiful wedding day.
