Spring Break at Big Box Pro Video Productions
Posted by deeperrin On F j, Y
Here at Big Box Pro Video Productions we tend to be booked up on the weekends and this year is no exception. We happened to shoot a wedding in Houston last weekend. So wedding videographers always juggle the fact we never get weekends off, but we make up for that on Monday and Tuesday… if we are lucky. So this month we are trying to spend non shooting / editing time outdoors in God’s playground.
Here are a few photos from our hike in the Big Thicket National Forest.
Aside from hiking in the forest we decided to enjoy the awesome weather and have dinner in Grason’s tree-house.
So now that spring break is over it is time to get back to editing wedding video productions.
Till next time,
Derrick Perrin

Merry Christmas with the family

Christmas time is here
This year we hosted the Perrin Family Christmas party at our home. I don’t think I have ever cleaned so much in my entire life. Three days straight we worked at getting the house presentable for our friends and family. That night dinner was Casbeers enchiladas. If you are unfamiliar, Casbeers is a hole in the wall folk music hideout in San Antonio, Texas. After our traditional gift exchange we had a white elephant exchange. Kendra was the proud winner of the Fish Alert. For those unfamiliar, for the last six years this so called Fish Alert, fishing aid, has been a part of the family white elephant exchange. This year just happen to be our turn. After that night we went out to the lake house so we would be there and ready to open presents on Christmas morning. I got a gun and a guitar for Christmas… not to bad of a year. On Christmas afternoon we packed up our three dogs and headed to San Angelo, Texas to visit with Kendra’s parents for a few days. We will head back to Corpus for Kendra’s second doctors appointment on the 28th. Wish us luck.
Merry Christmas

Back from Rome, Italy
Posted by deeperrin On F j, Y
Well Kendra and I are back and trying to adjust to the jet lag. We had a fabulous trip with B.O.C. Ministry out of Corpus Christi, Texas. While in Italy we were able to see a lot of sites in Rome. We also spend a day in Assisi.
Some of the sites we were able to see were:
- Saint Peter’s Basilica
- Saint Mary Majors Basilica
- Saint John Lateran’s Basilica
- Saint Paul’s Outside the Walls
- Saint Peter in Chains
- The Sistine Chapel
- The Catacombs
- Pantheon
- Vatican Museum
- Roman Colosseum
- Spanish Steps
- Pope Benedict XVI
- The Thanks Giving mass for newly elected Daniel Cardinal Dinardo
- Saint Francis’ Basilica in Assisi
- And many more….
Wile videotaping the pilgrimage we ran into the pilgrims from the Houston & Galveston area. They were in Italy to support their newly elevated cardinal. The Diocese of Houston hired us to shoot the Thanks Giving Mass for the Cardinal Dinardo. We did a two camera shoot in Saint Mary Major Basilica. In addition to this mass we were able to shoot mass in 4 of the seven major basilicas of Rome. All in all we shot about 20 hours of video while in Italy. Now it is off to the editing video editing maddens.
We had a blast and can’t wait to go back next year.
Cheers, Derrick Perrin
Home Again!
Posted by deeperrin On F j, Y
Hey there,
Well with any luck we will be boarding a 747 to head back to the United States of America. Rome is really a great place to work and visit, but home is always nice. Hopefully next time we come it will be for longer than one week. With all the history here it seem like we just scratch the surface and then it is time to pack up and head back west. When we get back we will post some photos for you to laugh at.
Thanks
Derrick & Kendra Perrin
Rome Again!

Well it is just a few days till Kendra and I pack up and head over the big pond to visit Rome, Italy. Last year I went solo so I am really excited to take Kendra along this time. We will be filming for BOC Ministry. This is their second trip to Rome for a religious pilgrimage. Our tour director will be Gerardo Hernandez and our spiritual director will be father Bob Dunn with Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. We will try to post as much as we can while we are in Rome. When we get the project edited we will post it so you can see our trip.
Keep us in your prayers
