This past Saturday we went out and videoed a wonderful wedding in Rockport, Texas. This wedding was at the Rockport Beach Pavilions. The day belonged to Cynthia and Damon Ragsdale. We can’t wait to get this one edited. The day turned out perfect. Once we have the clip online we will post it so you can take a look.
We would also like to thank Amy & Terri with Outside the Box. They do such a great job planning these events and it shows.
Congrats to Cynthia and Damon… To many years of happiness
Friday was the grand opening for the new Big Box Pro Video Production studios. Along with Fonzie Munoz Photography we invited the public out to see the new site at 4209 S. Alameda. We had over 90 people sign in the guest book and many more coming and going during the night. As for a grand opening went we thought it was a great success. Those who RSVP’d were eligible to win door prizes. A few of the business from our new neighborhood were gracious enough to donate gifts for door prizes. So a big thanks goes to our new neighbors. In the short time we have been at our new location we have been very thankful to be away from the downtown Corpus Christi area. We fee a lot safer here.
We decides a while back that we would put on the grand opening on our own without the help of any chamber of commerce. If you are planning to do it yourself we definably recommend it. Sure they will get a lot of people out to your event, but are they your target market? When it comes down to it most chamber of commerce sponsored grand openings involve the same lushes coming out for a social event and free beer. I recommend that you build a client and vendor list and work from there. You can use a site like eVite and let them cover the electronic invitations. Once your event is over you have the opportunity to post pictures online for everyone to see. You can see ours here:
We truly appreciate all of our friends and family the helped to make this a success.
Oh yea, thanks a million to Moms, we could not do this without you.
We are about to complete all the work on the new studio and it is looking good. This week we worked on painting the outside of the building and hung our new sign. We never thought we would have a “Big Box” so big, but we seem to think it looks good.
Some of the construction was put on hold this week so we could do some production work. Wednesday and Thursday I was in depositions and Kendra completed a big duplication job for a law firm. So we had a good week in the studio.
The grand opening date is set for March 7, 2008. If you have the opportunity come out and check out the new spot. We will have beer and wine along with food and cake. Yea, we will have some wedding cake for you. We would love to see you at our new home for Corpus Christi wedding videos.
Kendra and I will have a long weekend coming up. Friday we video a wedding and reception. Saturday is a Quinceanera, and Sunday we start work on our new location. Before we know it it will be Monday.
More on the new location-
We will be moving from our 402 Peoples Street location to a new studio on the corner of Almeda and Everhart. Along with the move we will be taking in Fonzie Munoz Photography with us. The two companies will continue to operate as solo companies but will share 1,200 square feet of office space. We are all very excited about the move. We do have a tremendous amount of work to do at the new spot. So far on the list will be removal of wallpaper, carpet, part of the t-grid ceiling. Next, we will tackle putting up a new wall and finishing up painting. Our anticipated date for working out of the new office is February 1, 2008.
The new location will provide a bigger, safer, and more pleasant location for our customers to visit. Our new location will have a giant display room for customers to come in relax and view what Fonzie Munoz Photography, and Big Box Pro Audio Video have to offer. We will continue to offer first class video productions for Corpus Christi and the surrounding South Texas area. So if you are in need of wedding, quinceanera or special event videography services look to Big Box Pro.
It has been about three weeks since we got back from Rome, Italy. The trip was a blast.
Now it is time to start editing video. This year we shot 18 hours of video. Not too bad considering we shot 24 hours last year. It was so nice this year to know what was important to tape and what was not so important to get on tape. By the end of the trip Kendra was wanting to stay forever. Unfortunately we had to come back home and start editing. Well we will keep you updated as to when the project will be done.
In Corpus Christi in October 16, 2007 there will be the Beach 96.5 Head to Toe Women’s Expo. It will be a free event open to the public. Come out to the Omni Bayfront Hotel for a chance to see some new projects by Big Box Pro. We will have a booth there as well as having the opportunity to run a live video wall for the event. If you go and are looking for us we will be right next to the Beach 96.5 booth.
This little blog will inform the reader about Big Box Pro Audio Video and its background.
I am Derrick Perrin and I am co-owner of Big Box Pro with my lovely wife Kendra. My background takes me through the radio and television programs at Del Mar College, and Texas A&M Kingsville. While at Kingsville, I was able to serve as the University’s television station news director. I did all this while working as a PC Tech at Best Buy in Corpus Christi. I also have some background in the law firm field. For two years I worked at the Wyatt Law Firm processing documents, taking pictures, and producing legal mediation brochures.
As for Kendra, we married on March 10, 2007. She has a background in education with a diploma from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. After working in the public school system, she decided there was something better to do in life. She soon became the head special event video editor at Big Box Pro.
In the summer of 2007, we took a road trip out to the WEVA Expo in Las Vegas. WEVA stands for Wedding Event Video Association. Hundreds of Videographers from around the world show up to trade secrets and pass along valuable information. We really enjoyed ourselves out in Vegas.
